Who we are
 Over the five decades of its existence, Sport-Thieme being a traditional family firm has always proven itself as youthful, dynamic and innovative over the five decades of its existence.
For more than half a century now, we have been competent advisors to school and club sports as well as in the area of fitness and therapy. Today Sport-Thieme is one of the most important mail order companies for institutional sports. It has grown to be one of the recognised leaders in this branch of industry. That also includes the Sport-Thieme main catalogue, which is published regularly. This catalogue has been an undeniable trend setter for the sports world for many years.

1949, Karl-Heinz Thieme founded the company as a “one-man-show”. By the following year the first employee was taken on and the first advertising leaflet was printed. 1983: a milestone year with the start of the new concepts in catalogues and advertising as well as the entry of Dr. Hans-Rudolf Thieme into the management team. 1993, the sports centre outfitting service for the construction, revision and maintenance of sports halls and sports equipment was started. With 140 employees and through careful management, Sport-Thieme achieved a turnover of 19 million Deutschmarks. 2003, a turnover of 31 million Euro was reached and the company now had 200 employees. 2005, Sport-Thieme Austria is founded in Linz/Austria.

Production and Logistics
 The 20 employees in the manufacturing section ensure the high quality of Sport-Thieme products. Each sports product is systematically checked and many of them obtain the GS certification, the guarantee of tested safety. Prototypes as well as batches of products are manufactured and safety tested here in our own workshops.

Research and Development
 Continually examining the demands of our customers and the needs of sports people, is a permanent challenge to us. The knowledge we obtain flows into our daily work along with ideas and suggestions gained from practical use. Based on this information, we develop our new sports equipment, check for trends and innovation and implement the results. In this way, many new and improved products and market oriented goods emerge and it is Sport-Thieme that sets the standard. In our own metal and timber workshops, modern machines manufacture the Sport-Thieme quality products.
In addition, our products are tested by independent quality institutes on a regular basis. We are continuously working with well respected research institutes to further improve our safety standards and functionality. The result is not just innovation but also safety that will be used in sports all over Europe.
Partners in Sports!
 Through the close cooperation with national sports organisations such as the gymnastics association, association for sports for people with disabilities, sports teaching associations, Snoezelen foundation and many others, we facilitate the training and further training of interested parties and sports people. This joint basis makes the current knowledge and research be available for all sports people as quickly and as effectively as possible.
